DUET publishes 24 SEER2 (non-ducted ENERGY STAR) on 208/230V~/60Hz/1P, with Tuya WiFi + Amazon Alexa on top of the included remotes. We do not publish a single square-footage coverage number for DUET — size each room with the free size finder (add both rooms) and confirm with a licensed HVAC pro. Line-set hardware supports longer runs (Gas 3/8", Liquid 1/4"; max 131 ft / precharge 49 ft per live specs).

What is a dual zone / multi zone mini split?
A multi zone mini split runs more than one indoor unit from a single outdoor unit; a dual zone system runs exactly two. Each indoor head has its own setpoint and mode, so a bedroom and an office — or two bedrooms — are controlled independently while sharing one outdoor unit and one electrical circuit.

When dual-zone beats a single large 2 ton
A single 23,000 BTU indoor unit can only condition the space its air reaches, and rooms behind closed doors stay warm. When the two spaces are separate rooms — two bedrooms, a bedroom and an office — two indoor heads on the DUET put the air where it is needed and let each room run only when used. For one large open area, the 24,000 BTU / 2 ton hub is the simpler fit.

Size the rooms one at a time: each DUET indoor head is 9,000 BTU, so each room's load should fit that. The size finder handles more than one room — add both, and it suggests the DUET when two rooms each land on 9,000 BTU. Contractor mode loads a whole project.

What's in the box + line-set length notes
The DUET kit ships in one box with the outdoor unit, two indoor heads and line-set hardware (Gas 3/8", Liquid 1/4"). The system supports runs up to 131 ft, with 49 ft precharged; longer runs need extra refrigerant added by a licensed technician. Plan the runs in the install planner.

Dual-zone when you need two separately controlled rooms. The 23,000 BTU single-zone when you have one large open area. Compare the 2 ton hub.
